At the Labari Journal, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and transparency in our reporting.
Errors can occur, but we take responsibility for correcting them promptly and clearly. Below is our correction policy:
1. Reporting Errors
We encourage our readers to report any factual inaccuracies, typographical errors, or other discrepancies they notice in our articles.
You can report an issue by emailing us at submissions@labarijournal.com or filling out the correction request form available on our website.
2. How We Review Corrections
When a potential error is brought to our attention, we:
- Review the reported issue in a timely manner.
- Verify the claim with relevant sources, documents, or stakeholders.
- Decide whether the content needs clarification, correction, or retraction.
3. Types of Corrections
- Minor Corrections: For small errors (e.g., spelling, grammar, or formatting issues) that do not alter the overall meaning of the content, we will make corrections without issuing a formal note.
- Significant Corrections: For factual inaccuracies or errors that impact the integrity of the article, we will update the content and include a Correction Note at the bottom of the article. This note will specify what was corrected and when. Example: Correction: This article originally stated [incorrect fact]. It has been updated to reflect [correct fact]. (Date of correction).
- Clarifications: When a story may be factually correct but unclear, we will add a clarification note to ensure our readers understand the context accurately.
- Retractions: In rare cases, if an entire article is found to be significantly flawed, we may retract it and issue a public explanation.
4. Transparency
All corrections will be made visible on the article’s page. We will not delete the original version but will make the corrected version prominent and transparent.
5. Social Media Updates
If an article with significant errors has been shared on social media platforms, we will issue a follow-up post or tweet to clarify the correction, linking to the updated article.
6. Timeframe for Corrections
While we strive to address corrections immediately, the timeline for review and resolution depends on the complexity of the issue. We will keep readers informed throughout the process.
