Jane Awindor, known as Efya, is a titan in Ghanaian music, celebrated for her soulful voice and unmatched stage presence.
She’s had a consistent career spanning over a decade and has earned accolades, including four consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year awards at the Ghana Music Awards.
2. Gyakie: The Young Songbird
Jackline Acheampong, or Gyakie, has become a household name with her viral hit “Forever,” amassing over 70 million YouTube views.
She may be the daughter of Ghanaian highlife legend Nana Acheampong, but Gyakie has carved her own path with a unique blend of Afrobeat and R&B.
She recently released her new single “Sankofa“, from her upcoming album “After Midnight”, which is due to be released soon.
3. Amaarae: International Black Star
Ama Serwah Genfi, professionally known as Amaarae, is a Ghanaian-American artist pushing boundaries with her alté, pop, and Afrobeats fusion.
Her hit “Sad Girlz Luv Money” with Moliy went viral on TikTok, charting globally.
Her sophomore album, The Angel You Don’t Know, which was released in 2020, earned Pitchfork’s “Best New Music” label.
In 2025, Amaarae made history as the first Ghanaian woman to perform a solo set at Coachella, showcasing her eclectic sound and bold aesthetic.
With a new album, Blackstar, due out on August 8th, Amaarae looks to solidify her status for years to come.

Baaba J (real name: Jemima Baaba Haywood-Dadzie) has been making waves since she arrived on the music scene.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian singer and songwriter dropped her debut EP, Lumumba St, in December 2020. She later debuted her first album, “Ok Baby, Let’s Do This“, in 2023.
She was named Spotify’s EQUAL Africa artist in April 2023.

S3kyerewaa (Pronounced: S3-Chir3-waa) is an emerging talent from Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana.
The singer and songwriter’s style can be described as neo-soul/afro-soul. She’s garnered enough attention after performing at the Western Music Awards, Manifestivities, and the Afro Shrine at the Asa Baako Festival.
S3kyerewaa debuted her new single “Streets Say“, which has created a buzz on social media.
